About

Andrew Waffenschmidt is a New York-based creative production and post-production leader with over 15 years of experience in commercial advertising, branded content, and video production.

In 2012, Andrew co-founded Astoria Film, an independent production company where he spent 13 years overseeing both the creative and business sides of production. His responsibilities included managing freelance talent, developing budgets, negotiating with clients, coordinating productions, and overseeing projects from concept through final delivery. During that time, he produced, directed, and edited work for brands including Mercedes-Benz, American Airlines, Johnson & Johnson, White Castle, and Penguin Random House. He sold his ownership stake in the company in 2025.

Andrew currently works as a Senior Video Editor at Morgan & Morgan, contributing to national advertising campaigns and collaborating with creative and production teams to deliver high-quality commercial work.

Combining the technical expertise of an experienced editor with the perspective of a producer and business owner, Andrew brings a comprehensive understanding of the creative process, from big-picture planning to the smallest details of execution.

Andrew grew up in Wisconsin, and has proudly called Astoria, NY home for almost 20 years.
